4 Reasons Showit is the Best Website Platform for Bloggers

Showit is the best website platform for bloggers

The blogging industry has seriously taken off in the last couple years and I don’t think this trend is going bye-bye anytime soon. I personally look to blogs almost every single time I’m looking to make an investment. Right now, I’m in the market for some great new jean shorts, so what did I do? I turned to some of my favorite fashion bloggers to see what they recommended! One of my passions is designing easy-to-use websites and blogs for creative business owners and bloggers. My favorite website platform for bloggers is Showit.

One of the biggest stressors for bloggers just starting out (or even years later) is their website. Recently, I’m seeing more and more bloggers who don’t have a website at all, and just rely on LikeToKnowIt or something similar to share links. But having your own website, a place to share your own content is critical for big growth. So what website platform do I think is the best website platform for bloggers? Showit

Showit: The Best Website Platform For Bloggers

If you’re just stumbling upon this blog post, there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of the Showit website platform. So, allow me to introduce you!

Showit is a website builder, originally designed for photographers, that works great for all types of small businesses. I use Showit for my own website, all my clients, and for the website templates in my shop! If you’re wondering why I support and recommend Showit for my custom website design clients, head on over to this blog post.

Today, I want to focus on bloggers. Whether you are a lifestyle blogger, fashion blogger, food blogger, fitness blogger, etc., Showit could be the perfect website solution for your blog.

1 – Showit integrates with WordPress for blogging.

In case you were hurt or confused that I don’t think WordPress is the best website platform for bloggers, allow me to explain. The reason I don’t love WordPress (on it’s own) for bloggers is because it can be difficult to customize and learn for people who don’t know how to write HTML, CSS, and other coding languages. I don’t want bloggers to avoid having a website just because they don’t know how to start or edit their website after working with a designer.

When you use Showit, you write your blog posts inside of a WordPress account that Showit’s amazing team sets up for you. So, you’ll easily put all your text, links, and photos into a new WordPress post to blog. But, to control the fonts, colors, layout, etc. of your main blog, single post page design, about page, etc. this all happens inside of Showit’s platform. Which is a lot more user-friendly and customizable in my opinion. (and I used to be a WordPress web designer!)

So basically, Showit offers complete creative freedom and no need to write code. Plus, you still get to use the powerful WordPress platform for writing and optimizing your blog posts. This is all included inside of a Showit subscription (I typically recommend the “Showit + Basic Blog” tier for new bloggers!).

If you aren’t using Showit yet, don’t worry – Showit’s team will migrate your existing blog posts into your new Showit-approved WordPress account.

2 – Showit is completely customizable and doesn’t require any coding.

So, I kinda mentioned this before but the unlimited customization available inside of Showit is truly my favorite feature! Over the years as a website designer, I’ve tried out WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and Showit (and probably some others that I’m forgetting!). And Showit is my favorite.

The Showit platform is seriously the most user-friendly and best platform to use if you don’t want to be restricted by a template or your lack of coding skills. You’ll start out with one of their free templates or you can purchase a Showit template from MK Design Studio or another designer. Then, you can literally change as little or as much as you’d like. Change out the colors and fonts for the whole design with a couple clicks, easily type in your text, and rearrange anything you want to. Here’s a fun video to show you how easy it truly is to use Showit!

3 – Easily optimize your main website pages for SEO inside Showit

Optimizing your blog posts inside of WordPress is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and there are amazing free tools and resources out there to get you started. I use the free version of Yoast SEO to optimize my blog posts and let me just say, it’s a game changer. More information and guidance on Showit/WordPress SEO optimization here.

But, it’s also important to make sure you’re optimizing the non-blog pages of your blog. That’s why Showit allows you to easily control the SEO page title and description for each page. Plus, you can easily add a keyword heavy description to each and every photo on your website to help boost SEO too. Check out Showit’s Help Docs for more information about how to use the Showit SEO settings to optimize your website.

4 – Showit makes editing your website fun!

Okay, maybe this sounds like a lame reason to use Showit for your blogging business. But, I’m serious! I believe every blogger should feel confident and capable to update the colors, fonts, and layout of their website.

There’s a learning curve with Showit (just like any new business tool) but once you understand how to make changes I’m willing to bet that you’ll enjoy the process!

5 – You can embed your LikeToKnowIt shop/links

Alright, because number 4 wasn’t really a great reason here’s another. If you’re a fashion or lifestyle blogger who uses LikeToKnowIt to share affiliate links you can actually embed your shop feed or specific collections to a Showit website page! I see so many fashion bloggers simply using the link in their IG bio to go straight to LikeToKnowIt, but how great would it be to have the shop embedded on your website instead?! That way, your website visitors can also spend time checking out your own website and blog, instead of just sending visitors straight to a third-party website.

So, technically a little code is necessary for this part but you’ll just be copying and pasting embed code from the rewardStyle website so I promise it’s not too hard! Blog post tutorial on this coming soon!
