You guys… I am so thrilled to share Amy’s beautiful new brand and website design. Amy Simkus is a Northwest Ohio wedding and portrait photographer so she’s not too far from my hometown actually! I love that sometimes she posts photos from parts of Ohio and I know exactly where she is – SO FUN!
Alright, let’s dive into all the good stuff. Amy hired MKDS to give her branding and website a refreshed, elevated look. She’d been in the photography business for a while and was ready to have a brand that matched her expertise and client experience. So first, we dove into a bunch of soul searching (Amy) and market research (me). Amy is a natural light photographer, with a fine-art quality to her work, and she wanted to start attracting higher budget brides. The new brand and website for Amy Simkus Photography includes delicate florals, feminine details, script fonts, and of course – her beautiful photos! What’s your favorite part of your new brand and website design?
My favorite aspect of my new website is that every detail encompasses details of my personal style and personality. We were able to choose graphic elements, fonts, images, and more which represent my unique brand and speak to the ideal client which I wish to attract.
What was your favorite part of the design process and working with MKDS?
I very much appreciated the structured organization of Mary’s design process. A project which at first seemed so overwhelming to take on by myself was able to be completed efficiently and without stress with Mary’s guidance. The process of developing my brand design was actually so much fun! I loved creating an inspiring style board of colors, textures, and images which Mary transformed into my brand. Mary’s skills and talents go beyond her design capabilities. I felt like she was patient and listened as we worked through tweaks, and she ultimately was driven to get things “just right” for her client. Thank you so much!!!
Did we successfully accomplish your goals for the project?
YES! In a field where clients have endless options for photographers, I feel as though my website is now something which I can share confidently and proudly to share my story and showcase my work. As I have told my friends, I now feel that my business looks “legitimate” and comparable to my peers.
How do you think this updated look will impact your business?
I believe that having a well-established brand ultimately suggests next-level professionalism. First impressions are everything… and with a polished new look, I am confident that my clients will stick around to browse the content and consider a booking! From a practical standpoint, I love that my website has integrated capabilities to capture leads and connect them directly to my client management system. The process is seamless, and has saved me so much time!
What advice would you offer someone who is on the fence about investing in custom website design?
The investment in custom website design is well worth it! A professional designer can bring your original vision to life, guiding you through the process for it to be efficient and completed in a timely manner. Had I tried to do much of the designing on my own, it may have never come to fruition.
How would you sum up your experience with MKDS?
From our first conversation, I felt comfortable with Mary. She is kind, patient, and reassuring. She really empowers her client to actively participate in the design process and guides them at a comfortable pace. After the final product was delivered, Mary even shared personalized videos walking through the back-end of my website for my convenience. She has thought of everything!!!
