This Indianapolis florist rebrand and custom Showit website design is probably one of my favorite projects to date! (Do I say that about all my clients, yes – but still!) Angela Stoffregen of Solstice Floral was our wedding florist when we got married last October. And to say she did a great job would be a major understatement! When I was meeting with Angela for our final floral meeting last fall, she told me she wanted to talk about rebranding and website design – I was thrilled.
Before this project, Angela was operating her business under a different name but quickly realized that there was another florist with the same Etsy logo in our area, and that there were a lot of other businesses with the same or similar names. So, she took some time to select a new business name that she had a more personal and emotional connection with, and then I started on her new branding elements.
We really wanted to use natural, earthy colors that were warm and welcoming. And we wanted Angela’s new look to be sophisticated because she was ready to raise prices and start reaching Indianapolis’s higher budget brides. I’m so excited to share what we designed together for her rebrand and new custom website. Plus, keep reading to hear about Angela’s experience with MK Design Studio.
What’s your favorite part of your new branding?
I love the color palette we put together! It feels earthy/organic/warm/welcoming – just about all the words I described when we started this process! The logo styles look high-end but not pretentious, too, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
What was your favorite part of the design process and working with MKDS?
My favorite part was really just working with Mary herself. She has been patient, kind and so accommodating throughout the whole design process. Her professionalism is obvious from what is shared on her Instagram and website, but in working with her I truly was able to see just how good she is at her field of work.
Did we successfully accomplish your goals for the project?
Yes, and so much more!
How do you think this updated look will impact your business?
I think it will help me attract the kinds of clients I want to serve. I also think it is going to allow me to reach clients who are not looking for something overly-feminine or cutesy, such as corporate clients.
What’s your favorite part of your new website?
I love everything about it. I think my favorite part is the capabilities I have for blogging, but also just in general I love how cohesive all of the colors and photos are. The layout flows so well.
What advice would you offer someone who is on the fence about investing in custom website design?
I think of my website as the inside of my home. Social media is probably the first thing they see (which is like the exterior of a home) and that matters greatly for first impressions. When they open the door to the “inside” and step in to look around (aka, visit my website) I want them to be impressed further with what they see. That’s why this project was so important to me.
How would you sum up your experience with MKDS?
All in all, 5 stars out of 5. I am so glad we did this. I will be recommending Mary to anyone I hear of looking for design services.
Anything else you would like to share about your experience with MKDS?
Just a sincere thank you for the patience and extensions on deadlines, etc. with regard to the name change in particular. I am so glad I was given the time to think it out a little bit longer. It has been well received by my clients and other professionals in the industry, and I feel really good about the choice I made even though it took me a little longer than expected. On a personal note, I have learned more about the kind person Mary is and am glad to know that someone like her chose my services, and vice versa. Thank you!!
